Dr. Gordon Neufeld is a foremost authority on child development, the author of the best-seller "Hold On to Your Kids," and the mentor of the legendary Dr. Gabor Maté, whom the public met in person last year thanks to the Novak Djokovic Foundation. For almost 40 years, he worked as a clinical psychologist with children, youth, and their caregivers.
Dr. Neufeld has a widespread reputation for making sense of complex problems and for opening doors for change. He has spent the last two decades developing courses for parents and teachers through his Neufeld Institute, an online educational institute and global charity focused on integrating developmental research into child rearing.
As an organization that believes in prevention, the Novak Djokovic Foundation is dedicated to bringing together the world’s leading experts on parenting and early childhood development. After Dr. Shefali’s talks on conscious parenting and Dr. Gabor Maté’s talks about traumas, we will take it a step further this year.
How do you best preserve the relationship with the child, despite the need to correct and direct them? Why are parents the most important thing in a child’s life, even more important than peers? How can we become the answer to children’s needs? More and more children are showing difficulties growing up, even though their parents and teachers are trying harder than ever before. Only when we understand the roots of this problem will we be able to solve it effectively.
Through a series of talks and an interactive lecture, Dr. Neufeld and the Foundation will travel through Serbia and the countries of the region in the first half of October.
