In the light of the International Day of Charity, we wanted to share with you how the construction works on our new preschool are developing. Thanks to all of your kind hearts and continued support, up to 60 children will get a chance at a quality early start in their lives.

In May this year, we have proudly marked the beginning of construction works on our 46. preschool. We have chosen to reconstruct the newly built part of the Preschool Institution “Sofija Ristić” in the Topola municipality located in the Sumadija region – the heart of Serbia. That is the only preschool institution in this municipality, and in the past few years, there has been a growing demand for new preschool places.

However, when we open our new preschool, almost every child in this area will have access to quality preschool education!

Thanks to the great support by Henkel Brend Ceresit , Tarkett, Enmon, and the Topola municipality, the new preschool will have over 460 square meters. It will be furnished according to the latest standards, and children, teachers, and all other kindergarten staff will be working in the best conditions.

During our reconstruction works, we had some challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but we have managed to overcome them. We are in the final reconstruction phase, and the before and after pictures are already amazing. We cannot wait to see this place filled with children’s laughter!

Once the reconstruction is finished, the new preschool will accommodate up to 60 children from this area.

We can't wait to fill this space with new furniture and didactic material.

The School builds project is a crucial part of our work.

But, why we do it?

According to Unicef analyses, every second child in Serbia doesn’t get a chance to attend preschool.

Most grow up not developing their emotional, social, and cognitive skills early on, which impacts greatly how they live the rest of their life. That’s why our Foundation has been on a mission to provide every child in Serbia with access to quality early childhood education since 2007.

And each day, brick by brick, we are closer to achieving our goal.

Our workers are thorough watching out for every detail.

Our workers are thorough in their work, watching out for every detail.

This is how we do it:

  • SCOUT COMMUNITIES

Before we build a preschool, we work alongside local authorities to identify potential communities with a high need for safe and reliable early education infrastructure.

  • ESTABLISH PARTNERSHIPS

We establish partnerships with communities who are deeply committed to their children’s education. We then work closely with each community to best understand their needs and properly provide support.

  • TEAMWORK

Each community provides necessary permits, a building suitable for adaptation and renovation, or a piece of land on which we can build preschool from scratch. Over the course of several months, we build a new preschool and employ and train new teachers.

We always make sure to secure the best hygiene conditions for children, especially now during COVID-19 pandemic.

  • DREAM WORK

Our preschools are modern and built following all current standards. We equip them with new toys, books, didactic equipment, and all of the necessary materials for everyday learning and play. We train all staff and teachers and use an up-to-date curriculum to ensure that children receive the best possible education and start in life.

  • ON-GOING SUPPORT

After we open a preschool, we don’t just get up and leave. On the contrary, we continue to invest in the community through programs that build a complete support network for children and parents in that area, and we maintain a relationship to ensure the longevity and sustainability of each preschool we have built.

Soon our new preschool will look like the beautiful preschool we opened in Svilajnac.

This will be the 46. preschool we have built or renovated, and until now we have helped more than 22000 children and trained around 1600 teachers.

None of that would be possible without all the generous people who believe in our mission – donors, partners, local authorities, and experts. However, there is still a long way to go.
