In the packed Gallus hall of Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana, Dr. Shefali had the first “Conversation about Parenting: Support, not Perfection” within her European tour, to the delight of everyone present.
Parents, caregivers, grandparents, professionals, and everyone who plays a significant role in the upbringing of children had the opportunity to attend the premiere Conversation about parenting – “Support, not perfection”, inspired by the special program of the Novak Djokovic Foundation. Through a thematic lecture conceptualized on the debunking of seven myths about traditional parenting, Dr. Shefali introduced everyone to the concept of conscious parenting that she coined herself, which has made her a New York Times best-selling author.
After the lecture, Dr. Shefali took part in a conversation, first with Jelena Djokovic – a caring mother and the host of this event, and then with the audience, who, while buying tickets, asked questions which Dr. Shefali answered last night. After the end of the regular part of the evening, Dr. Shefali held a private session for the most interested guests, yet another great indicator of how much her work is appreciated in our region.
“I am happy that I can spread knowledge and experience, both professional and personal, around the world and thus contribute my share to the fact that our children’s generation will live a more sophisticated life, and above all, less burdened by the examples of their parents. The task of parents is to recognize these patterns and not pass them on to their children, because only in this way can they fully develop their potential and leave a unique mark in everything they do,” pointed out Dr. Shefali, while also expressing her delight with the reception in Ljubljana.
“I believe it has happened to you before that you hear someone say something and it touches you so much that you think they said exactly what you carry deep inside. This happened to me with Dr. Shefali. In the spirit of the mission of our Foundation, which primarily strives to facilitate quality preschool education, the insights of Dr. Shefali adds value to the knowledge we spread among parents and professionals,” explained Jelena Djoković, as the two engaged in a conversation beaming with positive energy.
