The Season of Giving, our global fundraising campaign intended to erase the waiting list in Odzaci, collected a total of 172,944 euros.
With the sale of the painting aptly named “Dreams”, by Marko Kusmuk and Damjan Kovačević, at the Sava Ball in Vienna, another Season of giving was successfully completed. Like every year, half of these funds were donated by our founders Novak and Jelena Djokovic.
As you already know very well, during the Season of Giving we traditionally organize a fundraiser which spreads awareness about the importance of early childhood education and intends to give access to preschool to as many children as possible, aligned with the Foundation’s mission. This year, the story of little Elena, her Grandma Mira, and the chimney sweep Vlada has traveled all over the world and resulted in strong support from every corner of the earth. The end result – we will help 100 kiddos to preschool, which will ensure development in a safe and stimulating environment, playing with their new friends. What is even more important, the furnishing of 4 study rooms at the central Preschool “Poletarac” will also mean the complete deletion of the waiting list for preschool enrollment in the municipality of Odzaci. Thus, we have taken another step forward toward our mission to enable every child in Serbia to attend early years programs by 2030.

Our founders, Novak and Jelena Djokovic, inspired by the gesture of all those who joined the campaign, decided to double the collected amount with their personal funds, which will make 172,944 euros available for the opening of the new preschool in Odzaci in the coming period. Since this amount far exceeds our fundraising goal, the remainder of the funds collected will be forwarded to other projects as well. We have thus once again shown how one’s little act of kindness can make a big difference. People from 35 countries have donated.
We remind you that last year’s Season of Giving was the most successful so far, as it quintuply exceeded the original goal of 70,000 euros – it collected 346,315 euros. From the funds we collected together, we have already equipped kindergartens in Brzi Brod and Sajlovo, while the completion of the works on the preschool in Nis is expected to happen this year. Inspired by last year’s campaign, this campaign also more than tripled the goal of 50,000 euros – which surely means that with your donations, apart from the little ones in Odzaci, you also helped children in some other parts of Serbia. We will inform you about where the rest of the collected money will be invested in the following period.

Thanks to the most successful Season of Giving so far, waiting lists for preschool enrollment in Odzaci will now be completely erased. In this way, we have set the bar even higher. Thank you for trusting us by opening your hearts and helping us fulfill children’s dreams, yet again! The future of these 100 little children and their families looks much brighter now!
