Every parent interested in their children wants to participate in the raising and important moments of their child’s life.

Playing with your children goes way beyond simply entertainment. Parents playing with their children establishes emotional bonds and creates intimacy, important factors for the self-confidence and acceptance of a child. Interaction moments are important for every children’s’ development.

1. Put a Puzzle Together

An extremely stimulating activity that will assist in the logical development of your child and at the same time will bring the feeling that she/he can count on you to solve their problems (children also have problems).

2. Read a Story

Reading a story to a child can totally change her/his point of view about you depending on the feeling you are expressing while reading, so one should always read books calmly and lovingly, preferably fairy tales. This opens the imaginary world of a child.

3. Ask how Their Day Was and Tell Them Yours

This seems to be a silly thing but it makes a lot of difference in the life of a child and even in that of a teenager. Express interest in knowing how things are going. Do not ask about school grades, ask how the football game was or what math class was like, what they liked most about their day and why.

4. See an Animation Together

Sit in the living room with your child and put on their favorite animation, laugh together, tickle at the end of the episode, say you liked it and comment on it. Look for your inner child on this occasion, put it to play with your child and have fun!

5. Take a Walk

Call your child for a walk around the neighborhood. Whether it’s walking or cycling, it’s a quick activity that gives you the chance to enjoy a relaxing time in an outdoor setting. In the meantime, you can do what was quoted in item 3.

Family interaction through play shows to the child that you are willing to know or recognize their world. This is how one learns empathy, trust, humanity, etc. The relationship ceases to be unilateral, where only the child needs to know the things that we deem necessary and he also starts to show us his world.
