What inspired you to start Elysium Marbella, and what was the driving force behind turning your vision into reality?
I’ve always liked doing things differently. When I looked at the property market in Marbella, I noticed that everything looked the same. I believed that fresh ideas and top quality would stand out. That belief is what drove me to create Elysium Marbella.
Looking back, what were some of the most pivotal moments in the early days of building your business?
My father taught me how important trust and relationships are in business. Studying law gave me a clear way of thinking and helped me understand rules. In the beginning, I used that legal knowledge to buy and sell properties. Each deal taught me about hard work, trust, and how to find opportunities — not just in real estate, but in life.
What core values guide you both as a leader and within the company culture at Elysium Marbella?
Our values are teamwork, trust, family, and honesty. We operate like a football team — supporting each other, playing to our strengths, and always staying united. We build genuine trust with our clients and partners, treat each other like family, and remain honest and transparent in everything we do.
In your opinion, what are the most important lessons for achieving long-term success in business today?
Stay committed, adapt quickly, and never give up.
How do you balance innovation and growth with staying true to the foundational values of your company?
We always remember who we are and where we come from – including our Eastern European roots, like Novak Djokovic. Every idea or opportunity must align with our values of teamwork, honesty, and respect for our background. If it doesn’t fit, we don’t do it. Our roots and values guide every decision.
How has your own journey, from a football-loving child in Romania to a business leader and father, shaped the values and vision of Elysium Marbella?
Playing football taught me discipline and teamwork. Studying law and receiving a good education helped me think clearly and practically. Now, as a father, I pass these lessons on to my children every day. These experiences – family, sport, and legal background – are deeply embedded in the values of Elysium Marbella.
Why is giving back an essential part of your business philosophy, and how do you choose which initiatives to support?
Because where I come from, many children need support to follow their dreams. Helping kids isn’t just charity – it’s our responsibility to create a better future.
What resonated most with you about the Novak Djokovic Foundation’s mission and values?
I respect Novak’s journey — from Belgrade in Eastern Europe to becoming number one in the world. His determination to succeed despite all difficulties is inspiring. His foundation helps children by giving them access to better education and opportunities through sport. I truly feel that, alongside his efforts, my support can really make a difference.
Why did you decide to support the “Path of a Champion” program specifically, and what impact do you hope to achieve through it?
“Path of a Champion” clearly shows the way from learning to success, and I respect that. As a father, I want all children to feel supported, just like I support my own children, Erik and Iris. I hope this program helps kids become strong, confident adults ready for life.
What kind of long-term impact do you hope to make by combining your expertise in real estate with a commitment to children’s development through sport and education?
Building a good home and raising a child both start with a strong foundation. My biggest joy is seeing children grow up healthy and happy. Just as I enjoy building solid homes, I love seeing children succeed in safe homes and communities.
How do you see the role of sport, parenting, and coaching in shaping a child’s character and future success?
Sports teach children strength, teamwork, and confidence. Parents offer care, guidance, and the freedom to explore. Coaches help children improve their skills and reach goals. Together, these shape children into strong, kind, and capable adults.
I truly believe Novak Djokovic is a great example of building strong character by combining family values and sports. The effort and passion he puts into his foundation inspire me deeply, and it’s an honor to be part of it, as my journey follows the same values.
