This June, one day on a basketball court created memories that will last far beyond the final whistle.
Once again employees of Generali Osiguranje Srbija laced up their sneakers, picked up basketballs, and stepped onto the court. This was no ordinary game — it was The Human Safety Net Charity Basketball Tournament, the first of its kind in Serbia, where every participation fee served one clear purpose: to create an opportunity for 90 parents and children to come together, spend meaningful time with one another, and create lasting memories on Zlatibor mountain.
More Than a Summer Getaway
For years, the Novak Djokovic Foundation’s program “Support, Not Perfection” has offered free workshops for parents and caregivers of young children — a space to learn about child development, share experiences, and find community in the everyday joys and challenges of raising children. This summer, many of the families who have been part of that journey packed their bags for Zlatibor. They were joined by other parents who, in their own way, were also looking for a little breathing room — families navigating more than most, who simply needed time to rest, reconnect, and feel supported.
Together, they traded their usual routines for mountain air, outdoor play, and workshops organized by humanitarian organization Dečje Srce.
But the most meaningful moments were the ones that couldn’t be scheduled. A walk through the forest. A conversation that started at dinner and didn’t end until midnight. A child making a new friend. A parent realizing they weren’t alone in what they were going through.
That’s what Zlatibor offered — not just a change of scenery, but a reminder that sometimes the most important thing we can give each other is presence.

Teams Playing for Something Greater
Every team that stepped onto the court at this year’s THSN basketball tournament knew they were playing for something that would matter long after the final whistle.
By joining the tournament, companies chose to turn a day of competition into something far more meaningful. What started as a registration fee ended up as something far more valuable: a few days where life felt a little lighter for families who needed it most. Because behind every team that stepped onto that court was an understanding that the most important victories are rarely the ones we celebrate for ourselves — they are the ones we make possible for others. Companies that helped make the fourth summer stay on Zlatibor possible are Acibadem Bel Medic, Vatroival, KPMG, Coca-Cola, Sika, INEL, MK Group, CBS, Lidl, Bambi, Banca Intesa, AK Kompresor, Orion Innovation, Forum 26, and Comtrade.
There is something powerful about that kind of giving — the kind where you never see the full impact. You show up, you compete, you go home. And somewhere else, because of that, a family gets to simply be together without the weight of everyday life pressing down on them.
The tournament lasted one day. The ripple it created reached much further.

What Remains After the Final Whistle
The court has been packed up. The players have gone home. And on Zlatibor, 90 parents and children have returned to their everyday lives — but not quite the same ones they left behind.
That is the quiet power of moments like these. They don’t announce themselves. They settle in slowly: in the confidence of a child who tried something new, in the lightness of a parent who felt, even briefly, that they were not carrying everything alone, in a friendship that began over a shared meal and continued long after the mountain air faded from memory.
No scoreboard captures that. No final whistle marks when it ends.
Because it doesn’t. 💜
