Walk a Mile for a Smile
(In partnership with PRIMA International School in Belgrade)
For the last two years, the NDF has partnered with PRIMA International School in Belgrade to host a walk-a-thon event that raises money for schools in need throughout Serbia. We have had great success so far and we look forward to future walks!
Donation to Paracin (2014)
On May 10, 2014, the Walk a Mile for a Smile event raised more than 600,000 RSD from a combination of T-Shirt sales and donations. A fantastic time was had by all, including Novak Djokovic and Jelena Ristic. We enjoyed walking in the sunshine, building relationships in the community, and watching the children play and laugh during the Spring Festival, an event held directly after the walk.
All of the raised funds were donated to the primary school “Radoje Domanovic” in Paracin for the purchase of new furniture for the classrooms, which the school’s 700 students are now able to use and enjoy.
Donation to Mackat (near Zlatibor) (2015)
On May 16, 2015, we once again joined forces with PRIMA International School for another fun-filled day of walking, laughter, and altruism. Together, we raised 4,000 EUR for the purchase of new books for the library at the primary school “Milivoje Borovic” in Mackat, a town near Zlatibor.
The crowd was thrilled to welcome the famous Serbian race-car driver Dusan Borkovic, and it was clear that the community truly enjoyed coming together for such a worthy cause.
