Summer Camp at Goc Mountain

by , Posted on 6th Aug 2013

Children’s hearts are full of joy, while they enjoy and have fun with their new friends at Goc mountain, in Serbia. The Novak Djokovic Foundation, together with Roma Education Fund and city of Kragujevac, organised this wonderful summer camp for 45 Roma and socially challenged kids (4-10 years old) from rural areas of town Kragujevac, who usually don’t have opportunities for such cheerful group activities. Many of them have never even left their place of birth, up to now.

At Goc mountain they develop life skills, as well as their education and sports skills, in perfectly healthy and inspiring surroundings.

In this camp they have karaoke shows, dancing activities, different work shops, sports competitions, they draw, organise quizzes among themselves and their teachers from “Romanipen” association, and do many other interesting things.

“For these children this is a life experience which will empower them as individuals, but also teach them how to work as a team. They will have the chance to find out some new things about their friends, with whom they are spending time in the camp, and make new buddies -Gorana Dzudza Jakovljevic, project manager in Novak Djokovic Foundation
