STEP by STEP – with high-quality educational practice towards knowledge society
A seminar called STEP by STEP – with high-quality educational practice towards knowledge society was held in preschool “Cvetic” in Knic from November 29 to December 1, 2013 (the program is accredited under number 446 in the Catalogue of continuous professional development of teachers, educators, professional associates and directors for the school year 2012 / 2014).
The training focused on learning about the principles of education and upbringing aimed at children and the effective ways of encouraging the learning process: interactions established with children / students, methods and techniques of teaching, creating stimulative settings for learning, personalized and inclusive approach to teaching, use of portfolio for monitoring the progress of a child, achieving collaborative partnerships with families and local community. A special segment of the training was dedicated to the professional development of employees.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about a variety of cooperative learning techniques and reflect on their own practice in accordance with the main principles of quality educational practice. The attendees and seminar leaders highlight as especially useful the opportunity to meet other teachers and educators and exchange and extend their experiences.
32 participants were involved in the training course. Along with teachers and the Preschool institution director, the seminar was attended by representatives of primary schools “Sveti Sava”, “Vuk Karadzic” and “Rada Subakic” (five from each school). The quality of training was highly rated, 3,61 (out of max 4), and the participants received seminar attendance certificates (24 hrs).
The trainers were Vesna Zlatarovic (program coordinator) and Tamara Tomasevic (CIP – Center for Interactive Pedagogy associate).
