Novak Djokovic Foundation and EXIT Foundation in a joint charity campaign: Let’s build preschools together!
The start of this year’s EXIT Festival will also mark the beginning of the new nation-wide charity campaign called “To give every child an equal chance, Build preschools with us! ”, organized by Novak Djokovic Foundation and Exit Foundation. You can donate at paypal.me/novakfdn or by sending a text message on a special charity phone number 2205 (Serbia only). The charity number symbolizes the date of Novak’s birth, and by sending a text message you will donate RSD 100.
On this occasion, Novak Djokovic made a video message and called everyone to support the fund-raising campaign for preschool institutions across the country.
The founder of EXIT Festival, Dušan Kovacevic, said that he is very happy that this campaign is also geared towards children:
“After a successful big charity campaign “Aces for Children”, which resulted in the construction of a Children’s oncology clinic in Niš and the procurement of a cutting-edge ultrasound machine for in-vitro fertilization for Užice general hospital, we continue to work on creating a better and more care-free childhood for all children. I am happy that we recognized each other on this path and joined forces with the foundation belonging to the greatest athlete in the world, who is a positive role model for the youth, and not only in the world of sports, and not only here, but on a much, much broader scale”.
The first goal of this campaign is to raise RSD 18,450,000 over the course of four festival days for the reconstruction of Lasta kindergarten in Čenej, near Novi Sad, which currently has 88 children enrolled.
“The plan is to renovate the existing building, together with Exit Foundation and all campaign donors, and expand the capacities by another 160 m2, creating conditions for the kindergarten to accept another 50 kids. However, this is only the beginning of our cooperation. We are symbolically launching our first joint campaign with Exit Foundation on the opening day of the festival, and our partnership will begin right here in Novi Sad, where the waiting lists for kindergartens are long.
I believe we will manage to raise awareness about this topic together, and do some concrete things so as many children as possible can have a nice place to learn and play. Novak Đoković Foundation already has lots of experience in the area of early childhood development and preschool education, and we have invested more than EUR 11 million in similar projects”, said Maja Kremic, National Director at Novak Djokovic Foundation.
