We Donated 4 Ventilators and 20 Clinical Monitors to the Kragujevac Clinical Centre
In order to help the efforts of doctors and healthcare workers in combatting the coronavirus, Novak Djokovic Foundation donated four ventilators and 20 clinical patient monitors worth EUR 122,000 to the Kragujevac Clinical Centre.
“We are very proud to have managed to provide assistance to the healthcare centres in Belgrade, as well as to significant institutions in other parts of our country where we also had hotspots. We focused on the necessities and tried to ensure that assistance arrives to where it is needed the most. Our doctors, nurses and all healthcare workers are the pride of our country and we are aware how much energy and effort is needed to operate at the highest level in the current, extraordinary circumstances. I hope that the donated equipment will be your ally in treating people, and greatly help the healthcare personnel in their work,” said Emina Potric, Fundraising Manager at the Novak Djokovic Foundation.
The ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Kragujevac, Radomir Nikolić, who on behalf of all the citizens of Kragujevac thanked the health workers who fought like never before, and all those who understood the need to help this municipality.
“Hard times are behind us. We tried to take the situation seriously at a time when it didn’t seem like that. We formed a crisis headquarters that acted in two functions, the first is preventive, and the second is unfortunately the treatment of consequences. Of course, we needed help during all this time, and everyone helped as much as they could – some with applause, some financially. Today, we are here to thank the people who sacrificed themselves, as well as those who helped us fight it together, because without you we would not be able to do many things,” Nikolic pointed out.
Assistant Professor Dr. Predrag Sazdanovic, acting general manager of the Kragujevac Clinical Centre thanked the Novak Djokovic Foundation for procuring valuable medical equipment which is, he says, necessary for treatment in the current situation caused by the coronavirus, as well as in the future.
“As a gesture of gratitude and trust from the citizens of Serbia, who are treated at the Kragujevac Clinical Centre, during the COVID-19 epidemic, we were extremely proud that we have received donations from citizens, entrepreneurs and companies from the whole countries. The donations were in the form of deliveries of medical devices, hygiene products, medicine, food, and everything that was necessary to the Kragujevac Clinical Centre to fight against the epidemic. The donation of Novak Djokovic Foundation was one of the biggest donations which our institution had received in its history. On behalf of all patients and employees at the Kragujevac Clinical Centre, I express my great gratitude to the Novak Djokovic Foundation, for everything it has done for the citizens of Serbia,” stated Assistant Professor Dr Predrag Sazdanovic, acting general manager of Kragujevac Clinical Centre.
As a gesture of gratitude, acting general manager of Kragujevac Clinical center Assistant Prof. Dr. Sazdanovic gave a letter of thanks to Fundraising Manager Emina Potrić and the Novak Djokovic Foundation. In the coming days, the Foundation is planning to deliver the necessary medical equipment to other COVID hotspots around Serbia, which will include more ventilators, CT scanners, patient monitors, anti-bacterial shoes, and other equipment which will be distributed in accordance with the needs of the healthcare institutions.
