Royals and celebrity guests join forces with the Foundation at inaugural London Gala Dinner

by , Posted on 26th Jun 2013

The Novak Djokovic Foundation will organise its inaugural London Gala charity dinner on July 8, at The Roundhouse, a performing arts and concert venue in North London.

The star-studded event will be attended by a stellar line-up of royals and celebrity guests including Sarah Ferguson, the Dutchess of York, who is also the charity’s Global Ambassador.

Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Naomi Campbell and Boris Becker will be Chairs of the event.

Rounding out the event’s leadership group will be renowned philanthropist and the Foundation’s Global Fundraising Chairman, Milutin Gatsby along with international entrepreneur Ronald Burkle.

Last year, the World no.1 raised over $1.4m at the Foundation’s first fundraising event in New York, which was attended by top supermodels Karlie Kloss and Anja Rubik, fashion designers Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger and American Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour.

The Novak Djokovic Foundation’s mission is to support vulnerable and disadvantaged children – especially in Djokovic’s native Serbia – from the lack of nutrition, education, illness or loss of family. The Foundation works with local organisations that have similar values to provide necessary supplies and services for the wider community.

“I’m really looking forward to hosting my first fundraising event in the UK. The Foundation’s vision is to raise awareness of disadvantaged young people in Serbia and around the world, especially those who’ve had fewer opportunities to reach their full potential. With the help of my friends, family and supporters, I hope we can raise the much needed funds required to make a difference to the lives of these young children”

the six-time Grand Slam champion and World no.1 said.

Guests attending the event will be treated to a three course dinner, live auction and evening entertainment.
