“Since the beginning of our work, we’ve been trying to provide children support in all segments of their development, particularly in regard to the safety and health of our children. Having in mind that the first-graders started this school year in different circumstances than the previous generations, we have made the decision to support our little heroes with the ‘Nano fighters’ project and to provide unique, self-cleaning ‘Silver masks’ to all first-graders. These masks have been enriched with silver ions which have anti-microbial properties, resulting in an improved form of health protection. With this project, we wish to support the education system, as well as parents for whom this represents a significant impact on the budget,” said Maja Kremic.

Dean of ‘Drinka Pavlovic’ Elementary Jole Bulatovic thanked Novak Djokovic Foundation for caring for the health and safety of students.

“Unfortunately, 96 children started this school year in different circumstances. On the first day, they had a lecture about COVID-19 and about how to care for their health and hygiene, and I believe that they have gotten used to wearing protective mask during this month and a half. I believe that they will find it interesting to wear the ‘Silver mask’, as well as that this donation will mean something to their parents, so that they don’t have to buy masks for at least a month. It is nice to know that celebrities, and Novak is one, care for the health of the youngest,” said Bulatovic.

Director of Koloid Bozidar Backovic also expressed great gratitude to Novak Djokovic Foundation.

“The Koloid company, with its many years of experience in production and development of products based on silver ion nano-technologies, combined its tech with the technologies of Galenika Pharmaceutics, and together developed “The Silver mask’, a new, improved for of protection from pathogenic micro-organisms. Considering that the wearing of masks has been regulated by the Decision on measures for preventing and suppressing the COVID-19 infectious disease and that they are at this time a primary requirement for our society, by making a joint decision with Galenika Pharmaceutics, we have provided packages for health protection to our youngest members of society first. On this occasion, we thank Novak Djokovic Foundation for recognizing this initiative, and for making extraordinary efforts to improve the conditions in the education system for children all over Serbia,” said Backovic.

Having in mind the ongoing global pandemic, and while being aware of the epidemiological situation in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, the implementers of the project, Galenika Pharmaceutics and Koloid have, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, developed a new, improved form of protection, and created a self-leaning ‘Silver mask’ – a product enriched with silver and zeolite ions, which represent reliable natural protection from pathogenic micro-organisms. Silver and zeolite ions have been integrated into the three-layered barrier textile by ultrasonic ionization, and have strong pathogen neutralizing properties.
