The Novak Djokovic Foundation invested more than EUR 61,000 in the renovation of the kindergarten in Aleksandrovac

After decades of working with children, the central facility of the Preschool Institution “Naša radost” in Aleksandrovac has been reconstructed. The Novak Djokovic Foundation has invested more than EUR 61,000 in the adaptation and renovation of the only kindergarten in this town, currently accommodating more than 400 children.

With this donation, the Novak Djokovic Foundation provided the replacement of complete carpentry, which improved the energy efficiency of the building, the adaptation of premises, and hygienic painting, while new carpets were also provided for the children.

Andjelka Janic, Project Manager at the Novak Djoković Foundation, pointed out that investment in pre-school education can change not only the lives of children, but of the entire community.

“PI “Nasa radost” has a long tradition of working with children. We recognized the importance of the project, because this is the only kindergarten in Aleksandrovac, attended by more than 400 children. So far, we have reconstructed or built 41 kindergartens in Serbia and helped more than 22,000 children and nearly 1,600 teachers. The aim of the Foundation is to provide the youngest with optimal conditions for growth and development, and our community is now joined by preschoolers from this town,” says Janic.

Reconstruction of the kindergarten is of great importance not only for the children, but also for the whole municipality, said Dr. Jugoslav D. Stajkovac, Mayor of the Municipality of Aleksandrovac.

“In recent years, we are making maximum efforts to help parents whose children are in the Preschool Institution “Nasa radost” to facilitate parenting. We do a lot for our preschoolers to grow up healthy and carefree. On this occasion, we would like to thank everyone who helped in the renovation of the kindergarten, especially the Novak Djokovic Foundation, whose donation is of inestimable value in the realization of this project. We hope we will have similar initiatives in the future,” Stajkovac said.

Daliborka Simic, Director of PI “Naša radost”, thanked the Foundation, adding that the adaptation of the object achieved a common goal, i.e. creation of better conditions for educational work.
