Our Foundation Official Partner of the First Tennis Tournament since the Coronavirus Outbreak
People all around the world will have the opportunity to learn more about the work of our Foundation during the live streaming of the UTR Pro Match Series tennis tournament – the first professional tennis tournament in the USA since the Coronavirus outbreak.
All matches will be held at a private court in West Palm Beach, FL, area with no spectators or public access. The tournament will follow enhanced safety precautions, going above and beyond the USTA health and safety guidelines. The players will wear headphones on changeovers, to enable them to communicate with the commentators who will call the matches from a studio in Los Angeles. A number of guests, including Andy Roddick, will join the broadcast via Skype.
For many years, our Foundation has been implementing early childhood development programs for children in Serbia, which also raise the awareness of the importance of sport for the healthy development of children. For that reason, it is our great pleasure to be the official partners of this UTR Pro Match Series tennis tournament that also spreads the message about the importance of sport and teamwork even in these troubled times.
As many as 125 million U.S. citizens will live-stream the tournament, just like people around the world, including Serbia. All of them will have the opportunity to learn more about our work, our investment in the construction and adaptation of kindergartens across Serbia, and our recent organized assistance to the Serbian people in the fight against COVID-19.
– We are glad to see the world of sports slowly returns to its regular state as the pandemic slows down. One of the goals of the Novak Djokovic Foundation is to continiously point out how much sport is important for children’s growth, confidence and understanding of fair play. For that reason, Novak Djokovic Foundation recognized the importance of the first official tennis tournament after the coronavirus outbreak, and we are extremely glad that we have the opportunity to support it as an official partner. We plan on supporting and implementing other projects and initiatives that raise the awarness of the importance of sports in the future as well – stated Maja Kremic, National Director of the Novak Djokovic Foundation.
