Novak Djokovic Foundation donates €12,000 for Toy Library in Kragujevac

Novak Djokovic Foundation director Jelena Ristic presented cultural and educational Roma organisation Romanipen from Kragujevac with a €12,000 donation on Thursday.

The cooperation agreement that was signed with Romanipen Executive Director Bozidar Nikolic arranges purchase of toys to enhance the work of Toy Library, and a van for mobile toy library so that toys would be available to children in remote rural areas.


The Foundation will also support realisation of a summer skill development camp for younger children called Koračajmo zajedno (Let’s Walk Together), which will be held on mountain Goc.

“The Foundation helps organizations dealing with inclusion, early childhood development and education. Romanipen is doing a great thing and they will always have our support. Our goal is not to be alone in improving conditions for children’s education, but to support those whose mission is the same as ours”

said Jelena Ristic, director of the Foundation.

Executive Director Bozidar Nikolic expressed his gratitude for the support and emphasized that not only the financial support means a lot to them, but also drawing attention to the Toy Library project.

“Suburban areas are most vulnerable. We carry toys to children, visit them and bring them to play in the Library. Now that we’ve received funds for the van, it will be much easier to reach every child,” said Nikolic.

Jelena interacted and played with children who were eager to see the new toys in the Library.
