Clothing and shoes collected by the “Novak Djokovic” Foundation within campaign “Let’s keep all children warm“ arrived to drop-in centers. The NDF Director Jelena Ristic handed the clothes to the Day Care Center for children in New Belgrade, and expressed her gratitude to everyone who took part and helped us collect more than 3,000 pieces of warm clothing.

The action “Let’s keep all children warm“ shows that people here have a big heart and want to help those who need it most. We’re all very happy in the “Novak Djokovic” Foundation with a great response and the outcome that will mean so much to the children in the drop-in centers. As long as there are good people in Serbia, these children will not be alone and forgotten,“ Ristic said.

Given that the amount of collected clothing exceeds the capacity of the drop-in center, it’s been decided, in consultation with people who take care of these children, that some of the clothes will be distributed to similar institutions in other parts of Serbia, where children are also faced with many problems living in poverty. The Foundation will timely inform the public of the places where the part of the collected clothing will be sent.

“We would like to thank the “Novak Djokovic” Foundation and Jelena Ristic for initiating the campaign. We are also grateful to the citizens and companies that contributed to the action and donated the clothes. Our wardrobes are now full of jackets, sweaters, scarves, gloves, caps and other clothing and footwear. It will mean a lot to children who come to us,“ said Jasna Braticevic on behalf of the Day Care Center.

There are more than 2,000 children in the streets of the Serbian capital at any given time, having no one to take care of them. Actions like this are needed especially now when they are in cold weather during winter months looking for a shelter in Krfska Street and in New Belgrade, to get warm, rest, have a hot meal and change their clothes.
