New Year Presents for 600 Children from Srbobran, Sremska Mitrovica, Sid and Ruma

Within the charity initiative “Hand in hand for children in Vojvodina” representatives of the Novak Djokovic Foundation and the Public Service Broadcaster of Vojvodina – Radio Television of Vojvodina delivers didactic materials, technical devices and accessories, sports equipment and toys in Opovo, Odzaci, Sremska Mitrovica and Srbobran.

However, as a result of their effective cooperation NDF and RTV will host more charity events and provide New Year presents for over 600 boys and girls from the Serbian province of Vojvodina. Therefore, after Opovo, the little ones from PI “Poletarac” in Odzaci were visited. After that, children in foster care in Sremska Mitrovica, Sid and Ruma. And, finally, today we visited kids from the Roma Association “8 April” in Srbobran.

Serbia pop singer Nevena Bozovic joined the campaign and presented didactic materials and toys needed to support early childhood development of 234 preschoolers from PI “Bambi” in Opovo. Kids were excited to meet her at the event held on this occasion. Our athletic star Mihail Dudas hosted another one in Odzaci. He spent an incredible time with children from PI “Poletarac”. After that, we brought some nice presents to children in foster care in Sremska Mitrovica, Sid and Ruma and together with them enjoyed a special New Year’s performance.

Today we met kids from the Roma Association “8 April” in Srbobran. Children loved our special guests, actors from our famous TV show called “State Affairs”. Kids had the chance to enjoy an amazing play thanks to our guests.

Gordana Dzudza Jakovljevic, NDF project manager, said the Foundation gladly supported Radio Television of Vojvodina in their charitable efforts.

It’s a great honour and privilege to be able to make the holidays really special for children and their families from Vojvodina and fill their hearts and lives with the magic of the season. Our fourth New Year campaign is different from the previous events we organized. We have recognized RTV as our partner and this year we have decided to support their initiative “Hand in hand for children in Vojvodina”. Therefore, we did our best to become aware and provide what the preschool institutions in this part of Serbia needed most. Guided by enthusiasm and the love of sharing we carefully selected and decorated these presents. We hope didactic materials, sports equipment and toys will enhance the quality of teaching and create the right conditions for children to learn, be physically active and play with their friends in this preschool in Opovo, as well as in other towns we are planning to visit soon. In this way we also want to highlight the importance of investing in early childhood development and education of our children – said Dzudza Jakovljevic.

Series of four TV shows of the common title “Hand in hand for children in Vojvodina”, reporting about New Year campaign in Opovo, Odzaci, Sremska Mitrovica and Srbobran and receiving of the presents, will be streamed during the holidays on RTV.

Each year Radio Television of Vojvodina seeks to produce and offer quality TV program for holidays, and add to the festive atmosphere people experience and enjoy at this time of the year. We are trying to bring to the forefront families, traditional values and community spirit. To mark the end of 2016 we have decided to go a step forward and launch the project “Hand in hand for children in Vojvodina”. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Novak Djokovic Foundation, aiming to promote sharing, giving and doing something great for others. We are planning to visit representatives of the local self-governments in Vojvodina and children in kindergartens, foster families and other associations in need. The goal is to provide donations in the form of New Year presents for all of them and make their celebration of New Year and Christmas holidays best ever. Our visits will also be accompanied by free concerts featuring the RTV National Orchestra, local children’s choirs and folklore troupe – said PhD Miodrag Koprivica, director of Radio Television of Vojvodina.

In cooperation with the Serbian Center for Foster Care and Adoption, in the last three years the Novak Djokovic Foundation hosted special New Year events and brought presents to children in foster care in Belgrade, Kragujevac and Cuprija.  So far nearly 450 boys and girls have been included in the campaign.
