Lets keep all children warm!

by , Posted on 10th Dec 2013

The “Novak Djokovic” Foundation has launched a campaign with slogan “Let’s keep all children warm”, to collect winter clothes and shoes for children and youth in Belgrade drop-in centers. These centers work with street children by offering them food and shelter whenever they need it.

We invite all citizens who are in position to help, to join us and be a part of the team that helps kids in Serbia. The collection of clothing will be organized on the 2nd floor of the Delta City Shopping Mall in New Belgrade, on Saturday, December 14, from 10am to 10pm.

Our friends from the “C&A” company and “Obuća Pavle” have decided to contribute to the campaign and demonstrate their social responsibility. We are also grateful to company “Forma Ideale” and to New Belgrade municipality for their cooperation.

There are more than 2,000 children in the streets of the Serbian capital at any given time, having no one to take care of them, and in constant need for warm clothing. Actions like this are needed especially now when they are in cold weather during the winter.

It is estimated that there are more than 10,000 children and youth in the streets of Belgrade. Last winter, more than 70 children came to the shelter every day, to get warm, rest, have a meal and change clothes. This year we are expecting even more children crying for help in Krfska Street and in the drop-in center in New Belgrade.

Let’s help these children and keep them all warm!
