by , Posted on 15th Dec 2013

The “Novak Djokovic” Foundation has collected more than 3,000 pieces of warm clothing and shoes within campaign “Let’s keep all children warm” which will delight children from Belgrade drop-in centers and help them get through the winter. The Foundation director Jelena Ristic will hand the clothes to the Day Care Center for children in New Belgrade, tomorrow, on December 16, 2013, at 12.00 noon.

More than a hundred people came to Delta City and to the premises of the local community Dunavski Kej in New Belgrade, showing their generosity and good human nature. A large amount of sweaters, jackets, hoodies, pajamas, underwear, socks and shoes was collected for children and youth who find safe shelter in drop-in centers. With a great help from the DHL company, the goods were distributed to the premises of the local community, where the NDF volunteers worked hard during the day, collecting, sorting and packing clothes that arrived to dozens of sacks and big boxes.

“With people of goodwill, individuals and companies like “C&A”, “Ivancic i sinovi”, “Delta City” and the community of New Belgrade, we’ve shown that together, by helping each other, we can make miracles. We are very pleased with the outcome of the action. A big Thank you to everyone for their generosity and desire to help those in need, the children from drop-in centers. We hope to have many campaigns like this in future”

Jelena Ristic said.

The celebrities also showed their support by visiting the Foundation stand on the second floor of the “Delta City” Shopping Mall and by bringing warm clothes. Dejan Pantelic came with his wife and children, TV Pink presenters Tanja Radjenovic and Bojana Lilic brought their kids, a renowned stylist Asok Murti was also present, as well as singer Mari Mari, who donated a beautiful set of clothes for little kids.

There are more than 2,000 children in the streets of the Serbian capital at any given time, having no one to take care of them. Actions like this are needed especially now when they are in cold weather during winter months looking for a shelter in Krfska Street and in New Belgrade, to get warm, rest, have a hot meal and change their clothes.
