Donation to the Clinical and Hospital Centre in Kosovska Mitrovica together with the “Delije” Foundation
Today, together with the “Delije” Foundation, we have made a donation to the Clinical and Hospital Centre in Kosovska Mitrovica. Our Foundation donated two ventilators and 14 patient monitors, while the “Delije” Foundation and humanitarian organization “All for Kosmet” donated funds for the purchase of another ventilator.
“At a time when the coronavirus is still not waning, we are not giving up either. Today’s donation is just a small gesture of our solidarity and support, aimed primarily at the healthcare workers who deserve all our help in the difficult situation we are currently facing,” said Maja Kremic, National Director of the Novak Djokovic Foundation.
Acting director of the Kosovska Mitrovica Healthcare Centre Assistant Professor. Dr. Zlatan Elek thanked the foundations for the donation of ventilators and other medical equipment.
“Every donation to the people in Kosovo and Metohija is of great importance. This donation of medical equipment, which arrived to Clinical and Hospital Centre Kosovska Mitrovica at the most dire time of greatest need, is of particular importance. The donation came at a time when the number of infection cases in north Kosovo and Metohija has been increasing suddenly. The donated medical equipment will be immediately put to use to improve the condition of the infected. All employees are grateful on behalf of all patients and themselves, for the donated equipment delivered to us, which will be used to improve the quality of healthcare,” said acting director of Kosovska Mitrovica Healthcare Centre Assistant Professor Dr Zlatan Elek
At the beginning of the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 virus, the founders of our Foundation, Novak and Jelena Djokovic, donated a million euros for the procurement of necessary medical equipment for hospitals and healthcare institutions all over Serbia.
“Great thanks to Nole and the people in his foundation for cooperating on this project, because it was truly almost impossible to get ventilators at a time when the whole world needs them. We are happy that we were able to join forces to help healthcare institutions and medical workers in their daily work with the coronavirus patients,” “Delije” Foundation stated.
So far, Clinical Centre Kragujevac was given four ventilators and 20 patient monitors, Kruševac General Hospital received five respirators and five patient monitors, while Čačak General Hospital, Ćuprija General Hospital and Studenica General Hospital in Kraljevo received five patient monitors each. Additionally, thanks to this humane campaign, the Clinic for Infectious and Tropical Disease at Clinical Centre of Serbia also received the latest Siemens scanner, with all accompanying equipment, and at the beginning of July, the Foundation donated to the University Children’s Clinic in Tiršova a device for disinfection of surfaces and donated five non-invasive ventilators and anti-bacterial slippers to the Clinic for Pulmonology, Clinical Centre of Serbia.
