Charity Auction for Children in Kotraza
NDF and company Art Ival raised 4.300 EUR at a charity auction of artistic chocolate eggs, for the “Schools of life” project in the village of Kotraza in Serbia.
Novak Djokovic Foundation and the company Art Ival, supported by the Belgrade City Council, raised 4.300 EUR at the fifth charity auction of artistic chocolate eggs, traditionally held before Easter, on Wednesday evening. On this occasion 33 hand-made artistic chocolate eggs – showpieces, donated by the Art Ival, were displayed on the auction. The aim of this charity event was to raise funds for the “Schools of life – together for childhood” project in the village of Kotraza, in Lucani municipality.
Gorana Dzudza Jakovljevic, NDF project manager, said that five Schools of Live have been opened so far in Merosina, Biljanovac, Gruza, Sirca and Kadina Luka in Serbia, while the works on the construction of the sixth facility, in Vladicin Han, are still under way.
The funds raised at this charity auction will be invested in the construction of the seventh School of Life, in village Kotraza. I want to express my sincere gratitude to our friends from the company Art Ival and to all people of good will for their help and support. Without them this auction wouldn’t be so successful. All the preschool facilities within our Schools of Life project have been opened in economically disadvantaged, rural areas in Serbia. In cooperation with these municipalities we have estimated that children lack proper conditions for growing up, playing and learning. In addition to Schools of Life project implementation, our Foundation also invests funds in pre-school education and training of teachers and tutors. We are glad that 200 boys and girls have been enrolled in our Schools of Life so far. Moreover, we’ll keep cooperating with our partners, local communities and all the people who can help to open as many kindergartens as possible, and bring smiles to even greater number of children. Our project has also demonstrated that we can create excellent preschool programs without big investments – said Dzudza Jakovljevic.
The artistic chocolate eggs are unique, hand-painted and designed by great chocolate masters. Eggs weigh about 2,500 grams each, and represent true masterpieces.
They were illustrated manually and specially made in filigree technique. Moreover, each of the exhibits was original, unique and unrepeatable. Likewise, they are the artistic expression of our top chocolate masters.
Over the years, this charity event has encouraged more and more generous people to gather and take part in the auction. By purchasing these wonderful eggs, they bring back hope to our young citizens and their families of a better life and brighter future.
