Call for New Project Proposals is postponed
Novak Djokovic Foundation board of directors has decided to temporarily postpone Call for Proposals 2014-2015. This decision has been made due to the urgent projects regarding the reconstruction and equipping of pre-schools that sustained severe damage in May floods in Serbia, in which the Foundation actively participated.
Since the first day of the flooding we have decided to direct all collected donations to the recovery of the affected areas. We wanted to help and enable children in flooded areas to continue attending pre-school program and return to their kindergartens as soon as possible. So far we have successfully reconstructed and equipped two preschool facilities: in Petrovac on the Mlava and in Svilajnac.
In addition, works on the reconstruction of kindergarten “Veseljko” in Obrenovac are rapidly progressing. The reconstruction of this facility is expected to be completed by the end of November. Furthermore, the Foundation has taken care of complete reconstruction and equipping of two other kindergartens in Obrenovac – “Ciciban” and kindergarten “Zeka”, where we provided furniture and didactic materials. We have also provided the funds for the reconstruction of two kindergartens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for the implementation of mosquito control and the procurement of disinfectants in Croatia, in order to facilitate infection prevention, which in flooded areas can threaten the health of children.
Due to above mentioned urgent investments into the flood relief projects, the realization of projects that have been selected during the last year’s Call for Projects have been temporarily postponed. For that reason, we have decided to first realise and implement last year’s projects before we accept the new ones.
We will subsequently inform the public when the new Call for Project Proposals will be open. Please follow the news on our website for the updates.
Thank you for following and supporting us. We will continue our mission so that all children in Serbia can have a better and nicer childhood. Let us believe in their dreams together!
