Second “Friendship games” have started!

by , Posted on 1st Oct 2014

This year 44 children from school in rural areas will enjoy the time spent with their new friends, having fun, learning, being creative. The “party” will last until the end of the week.

Words are easy, like the wind, but faithful friends are hard to find! Instead of competing, we work together. We don’t conquer, we share, so that all of us are happy. We don’t ask where you come from, we are just happy when we are together. We meet, so that we have new friends all around Serbia. These are mottos of “Friendship Games”, the wonderful event we host for the second time!

Children were so happy and thrilled to start  “Friendship Games” adventure, that before unpacking in their rooms in Suplja stena, place near Belgrade, they told us how “their hearts were filled with joy”. But, some other things were filled, as well: their notebooks were covered with drawings of children they met in the bus on the way to the camp, sketches of what they expect to see and experience until the end of the week, and mottos and nice phrases about friendship.

We will make sure they learn many interesting things and have a lot of fun with their new friends. So many nice surprises await them.

This year 44 children from four-yearshools in rural areas in Serbia: Merosina (village Gramadje), Vladicin Han (village Krajkova) and Kraljevo (villages Usce i Studenica) will take part in “Friendship games”. In the next five days they will have the opportunity to visit the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade. They are particulary looking forward to seeing the Trophy Room of the world No 1 tennis player at the Tennis Center Novak. We will also visit Minicity, a small kids’ town, made up of 25 interesting workshops where the children will have the opportunity to learn about different professions from the adults’ world. In addition, we will watch 3D cartoon at the Cineplex cinema. Then we will go on a cruise along the Danube and Sava rivers and let children see Belgrade from a different perspective. We will take them to children theatre to see the play and spend some time with the actors. We will also visit the zoo, Kalemegdan Park and see the exhibit called “Dino Park” at Kalemegdan Fortress. At the end of the day we will observe the stars and distant galaxies in Belgrade Planetaruim. If the weather is nice, we’ll visit the Avala Tower as well.

We have carefully planned all these small “adventures” for the children. We wished to enable them to meet, make new friends, acquire new skills, play together, create, learn together and from each other, through a lot of  interesting and creative workshops and activities. No doubt “Friendship Games” will be a huge success – after all, smiles on children’s faces and their positive energy and enthusiasm upon arriving at the camp, speak more than thousand words:)

Follow us on NDF website. We’ll keep you informed on daily basis about what we have visited, seen and experienced. The joy of these children makes us even happier. Their happiness is the most important thing, right?
