Foundation got the special award “Best Non-Profit 2014”, for our support to flood relief projects in Serbia.

Novak Djokovic Foundation won the award “Best Non-Profit 2014” at “The Night of the AdEaters“ in Belgrade last night. Beside giving commercial fans opportunity to enjoy the latest, most interesting advertisements from all around the globe, this event is also known for supporting socially beneficial campaigns and organizations engaged primarily in charitable activities. As the event organizers said, they had no doubt which organization to award in this category.

The support of the Foundation to flood relief projects was remarkable. As you all know, world’s best tennis player Novak Djokovic donated 100% of his prize money from ATP tournament in Rome to flood relief in Serbia. Thus he drew worldwide attention to the devastation the catastrophic natural disaster left behind in Serbia, and in the region. He also called people to join and donate money for the flood-hit areas. His foundation has raised 2 million euros for the reconstruction of preschool facilities in many flood-affected towns in our country. In addition, NDF team is doing its best to make all the dreams of children come true – said the hosts of the event, stirring huge applause from the audience at Sava Center.commercial-concept

Gorana Dzudza Jakovljevic, NDF project manager received the award on behalf of Novak Djokovic Foundation:

We are happy to receive this award. It has a special meaning for us, since it is a recognition of our constant efforts to provide the best possible conditions for children’s education in Serbia. This year we have dedicated most of our time to flood relief projects. In this respect, we have helped and supported the reconstruction of preschools that have suffered damage beyond repair in May floods. However, we have also continued to work on „Schools of Life“ and our other projects we are so proud of .
