Numerous scientific studies have proven the positive effect of memorization techniques on children’s memory, as well as on the results children achieve in school. It is interesting that  Nikola Tesla was one of the many historical persons who used memorization techniques. According to the results of tests performed, after the techniques have been adopted, there is a guaranteed increase in the speed of reading and memorization at a minimum of 50%.

With the aim to help the children from our country to learn the school material easier in this inconvenient situation, Novak Djokovic Foundation, in cooperation with Leonida Institute, launched a YouTube series of lectures on the topic of learning with memorization techniques for children. What is the main reason for a lack of concentration and focus when studying?

It is widely known that our brain has two hemispheres:

  1. the left or the logical hemisphere, which deals with numbers, analysis, and logic;
  2. the right or the creative hemisphere, which is in charge of imagination, spatial awareness, and everyday daydreaming.

The biggest problem arises when people “do not put to work” their right hemisphere, so it starts bothering them in the learning process because they start daydreaming and thinking about things that have nothing to do with the material. This is the main reason for the lack of focus.

It is interesting that  Nikola Tesla was one of the many historical persons who used mnemonic techniques.

What exactly are memorization techniques (mnemonic techniques)?

Mnemonic techniques are specific mental strategies for improving memory. This is a skill that allows the linking of images and words to memorize an unbelievable amount of information. With the help of mnemonic techniques, with just a little practice, you can remember the faces of hundreds of people you see for the first time, as well as their names, extremely long and unrelated lists of things, definitions, and entire lectures. You can solve the hardest memory tasks with ease!

What are the benefits of learning with mnemonic techniques?

Our YouTube lessons will encourage children to use both brain hemispheres at the same time, which contributes to a better balance of the functional potentials of the brain. This further leads to the right hemisphere, which is of essential importance for the learning process, working in the children’s interest, and not against it!

Leonida Institute for Education and Personal Development is the only school in the Balkans with a certificate in the field of fast reading, mind maps, and mnemonic techniques issued by the Open Genius corporation, headed by Tony Buzan. For its programs, the Institute has received written recommendations from the Ministry of Education, the City of Belgrade, the Institute for Improving Education and Upbringing. According to numerous criteria, Leonida Institute was assessed to be the most complete educational institution in the field of other education which deals with intellectual development in preschoolers and elementary school students, as well as high school and college students.
